My colleague Yü Lee, acclaimed Taiwanese mezzo-soprano and versatile performing artist, has nominated me to share one black-and-white image a day for five days. I can hardly resist an invitation like that, so I will be sharing five selected images through the American Thanksgiving weekend. Stay tuned.
For now, a shout-out to my brother. Happy Birthday!
Kind remarks for my recently published e-book came today from David Daniels, author of Orchestral Music.
An engrossing retelling of this familiar backstory of The Arabian Nights, entirely suitable as preparation for listening to Rimsky-Korsakov’s celebrated orchestral tone-poem, Sheherazade (an alternative spelling of the protagonist’s name).
I appreciate Dr Daniels’s appreciation, naturally, and hope you will consider giving Shahrazad’s latest incarnation a kind look yourself.
